FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I extend my stay so that I can enjoy the Dominican Republic after IDRPalooza?
While we know that the Dominican Republic has a lot to offer, we ask that you arrive and depart as a group to celebrate together! Please do not plan to extend your stay.

Can I bring a plus one?
Yes! We want you to share your successes with someone. Please note that all attendees must be over 21 years old.

My plus one doesn’t live in one of IDR’s hub cities. The website is only allowing us to choose a hub city for their travel.
IDR is excited to have your guest on the trip and will cover the flight from your main hub city. You/your guest is responsible to coordinate and pay the cost to get your guest to the hub city. Remember to ensure there is plenty of extra time between flights in case the first leg of the trip is delayed. Any costs incurred for missing the IDR provided flight will be covered by you/your guest.

What happens if I miss my flight?
We do not want you to miss your flight so give yourself extra time at the airport to check in. If you miss your flight for any reason, you will be responsible for any additional fees incurred including the difference in fare for the new flight as well as airport transportation costs in the Dominican Republic.

What happens if I need to change my plus one after registration is completed and flights have been booked?
You will need to contact the travel company directly at groups@etconline.net to request a name change and pay any additional fees incurred for the change. You will also need to reach out to our planning group at IDRPalooza@idr-inc.com to ensure we have the most of to date information for your ground transportation, hotel room, name badge, etc.

I do not have a passport yet or need to renew it. How can I do this?
Please look at the travel tab on this website for details on how to get a passport. Do not wait as it could take up to 12 weeks to get a passport.

Can I travel to the Dominican Republic with less than 6 months on my passport?
The Dominican Republic government requires that your passport must be valid during the entirety of your trip. Your United States Passport must not expire within 6 months after the dates of the trip in order to be valid.

Can I check into my flight prior to getting to the airport?
We have booked group seats with the airlines. You will not be able to check into your flight until you arrive at the airport on your departure date.

Do I need to book my own transportation or room at the airport or resort?
No, our event team is booking the resort and ground transportation for all our attendees. You will be sent a detailed itinerary prior to the trip.

What is the dress code for the event?

What restaurants are available at the resort?
The resort offers 10 dining experiences, as well as a coffee shop and 15 different bars, you can find the details here.

What resort activities are available?
Non-motorized water sports are included in your stay at the resort, however, Excellence El Carmen offers the Miilé spa, deep sea fishing and scuba diving with instruction for an additional fee.

What are our Departure Procedures?
After an exciting and rejuvenating trip, departure day is never popular. You will receive a 'departure notice' indicating the time you should have your luggage outside your room as well as the time when you should meet in the lobby for transportation to the airport.

What is the deadline for registration?
Monday, November 3rd.

Will I need to provide a credit card to the resort upon checking in?
Yes, a payment method is required upon check-in to cover additional incidentals, such as motorized activities, golf, spa, etc. that you might book directly with the hotel.

What expenses can be reimbursed and how can we get reimbursed?
All expenses must be submitted within 7 days after the trip and all expenses require a clear receipt. Airline baggage fees, ride share costs to and from the airport in your originating city, airport parking and greens fees at the resort for the winner only. Please note that you are not eligible to expense your plus one’s fees. As always, you must have enough balance left on your Employee Wellness fund in order to expense greens fees under Employee Wellness.

What expenses are not reimbursable?
While most of the event is covered by IDR, below are just some of the expenses that you will be responsible to cover on your own. This is not an inclusive list, so if you are unsure then be sure to ask your manager in advance if an expense is covered or not.
